WILLIAM BENNETT ACCIDENT
William Bennett accidentally fell off the stage at last weekend's concert in Belfast and needed to be stretchered to hospital. On later examination it was found that 3 ribs had been broken and therefore the concerts in Oslo and Norway scheduled for the end of this month will now be Philip Best solo performances. Other obligations for mid-November onwards expect to be fulfilled. diary

this time in Russian (both are worth translating
for their rather amusingly reactionary nature). Also taken from Ground
Fault Recordings website: "Wow....this might be the best
of the Extreme Music series so far! (The upcoming China release will kick all
the others' asses combined.) The Russia CD has some really great extreme sounds
while maintaning a Russian feel to it. There is quite a bit of old record samples
throughout. The track from Vetrophonia is way out there....it seems more like
an opera soundtrack....while I was into it at first, it got to be a bit too
much. Notable tracks include i5067,70, Comforter, Pichismo, Error, Kryptogen
Rundfunk, Tea Man with Tea Gum and a very energetic track from Neizvestnost.
The entire CD flows really well from beginning to end."

BIRD SEED UPDATE
A promised update on the recordings for Bird Seed album project from
William Bennett: "The final track listing is more or less decided:
Why You Never Became A Dancer, Wriggle Like A Fucking Eel, Philosophy,
Bird Seed, Cut Hands Has The Solution, and finally Munkisi
Munkondi. Most of the instrumentation has been recorded but much of the
vocal work is going to be rerecorded or remixed since the lyrics have been expanded.
As will be soon apparent, there's much use of acoustic sound - this does not
mean tambourines and Spanish guitars, but it will nevertheless come as quite
a shock to many listeners. Paradoxically, this makes for an ever more intense
experience - anybody obtaining this work expecting an easy ambient ride will
feel downright cheated. A prodigious amount of painstaking work has gone into
the creation of each of the six pieces - the last 18 months since Cruise
have been incredibly productive yet emotionally extremely draining. In terms
of musical sound and lyrical content, some amazing completely new avenues are
opened up - this is immediately evident after your first exposure to Bird
Seed.'

details of our show. It is called Sound Poets Exposed and half the show
is Clive Graham showcasing such artists as Henri Chopin etc. The
other half is basically myself playing my favourite records such as electronic
stuff, Krautrock, psychedelia and of course Whitehouse and related. We've
already recieved a few complaints! Transmission is on 104.4 FM in London or
via the L-M-C website. This Sunday it is on between 6 pm and 8 pm and

INTERNATIONAL RECORD STORE DIRECTORY
We have now posted the first draft of the Susan
Lawly international record store directory. At present it covers only
physical stores - we may include an update with mail order outlets; also please
note this is all the information we currently have, any omissions or corrections
very welcome. There are obviously many other notable omissions in this first
draft - in particular, countries such as Canada, Germany and Italy. We would
welcome all further information updates from customers and outlets alike.

magazine. This issue will also feature a European tour review by Xavier

SONAR 2001
Cruise (Force The Truth) was played by Aphex Twin
to 5,000 people at the annual Sónar event in Barcelona last month.
Also the song has apparently been played on the Autechre tour.

Apparently Philip Best, while recently recording vocals
for Cruise, caused sound disturbance problems for the Super Furry
Animals rock group who were simultaneously recording their new album in
the same studios.
